Running docuseries are few and far between, but Netflix has a project in the works that will follow some of the fastest athletes in the world. The six-part series will drop in 2024.

The untitled series chronicles the running lives of elite runners in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Ivory Coast, and Jamaica. It will offer “an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the high stakes and mental toughness of the sprinters who devote their entire lives to crossing the finish line in record time, where their professional futures are decided in just fractions of a second,” according to Deadline.

The project is produced by Box to Box Films, the minds behind other sports-forward docuseries like Drive to Survive, Full Swing, and Break PointDrive to Survive, in particular, had a big impact on Formula 1 car racing’s popularity in the United States, with both race-day ticket sales and television viewership increasing in the United States after the first season aired, according to The New York Times.

The upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest will be the backdrop of the docuseries. However, Netflix has yet to announce who in this competitive field will be featured. Notably, Noah Lyles will be going after Usain Bolt’s 200-metre world record, while Shericka Jackson, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will be going head-to-head (to head) in the 100-meter event.
