Little Mason Charity Run
This run is to assist this very special boy, Little Mason Van Dyk who was welcomed into the world on 6 March 2013.
Mason was born with an extremely rare and severe form of Ichthyosis, Harlequin Ichthyosis (HI). There is no cure for this condition. HI is a rare skin disorder that prevents the skin from forming a protective layer and impairs skin functions that we take for granted. Despite the many physical challenges, Mason’s mental and intellectual development is normal.
At birth, Mason was given only 5 days to survive. Being the fighter that he is, and with his big heart and wittiest personality, Mason defied the odds and turned 9 years on 6 March.
All parents face the financial challenges of raising kids and meeting their needs on a daily basis. With special needs children those costs can be quite astronomical.
