JointEze Irene Virtual Ultra
With all the challenges brought upon us by Covid-19, Irene Athletics Club has decided to virtually continue presenting the 3rd biggest ultra in South Africa.
The Ultra will now be a Virtual Race, 48km, 30 March to 5 April 2020. Run a total of 48km in 7 Days, when and where doesn’t matter. When you complete the challenge we send you your medal.
Every athlete who has entered for the race will have the opportunity to run the 48km between 30 March and 5 April 2020. You can run when and where you like during these 7 days, just complete the total 48km before 23:59 on 5 April 2020. You can even run 8km for 6 days. Make up the distance as you wish. On completion we will send your special medal to your preferred address.
We were still lucky enough to change the T-shirt design intime. This will be a special once off t-shirt showing that you did this ultra on your own. If you have ordered one initially it will be delivered with your medal. You will also have the opportunity to order one now at R160.
How it will work:
- Complete the online form at https://forms.gle/9Wrxtf5rUACaWVJ6A
- Join the JointEze Irene Ultra Club on Strava. (Download the app on your smart phone from the play stores.) Here we’ll be able to confirm that you completed the distance.
- If you do not own a smart watch that is linked to Strava, you can still upload your run(s) as manual entries. Please name them accordingly by including Irene Ultra in the name.
- If you do not own a smart phone you are welcome to send us a short summary of your times and distances in an email addressed to ireneathleticsclub@gmail.com, subject Irene Ultra Results. Remember to add your name in the e

If you have entered for the 48 or 21km actual events, there will be no charge for this event. By completing the form above, you’ll be entered into the virtual race. Money paid towards the Irene Triple Challenge, Temporary licenses and Champion chips will be refunded. Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund or transfer any other payments.
